Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Idea: Voice Notes & Thoughts app ("Idea", "we") collects, how it is used and the choices you have. Idea is published by Saeed Anwar, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Contact: get.maktek@gmail.com.
What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, location or photos. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How your voice is processed
Recordings are made only when you tap record. To create a transcript, Idea uses Apple's Speech Recognition on your iPhone. Depending on your device and language, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple's Privacy Policy. Titles, summaries, categories and tags are created on your iPhone using rules; your content is not sent to any AI service.
Service providers
We use these providers to run Idea. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: account sign-in, database and file storage for your ideas and recordings.
- Apple: speech recognition, App Store payments and TestFlight.
- RevenueCat: manages in-app subscriptions and tells us whether Premium is active.
- Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics): crash reports and usage statistics.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not show ads.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your ideas and recordings are stored in your private account; access rules on our servers prevent other users from reading them, and recordings are only played through short-lived private links.
How long we keep data
We keep your content until you delete it or delete your account. Deleted ideas can be undone for a few seconds and are then permanently removed. Deleting your account permanently removes your account, ideas, recordings and settings from our servers. Crash and analytics data is kept by Google according to Firebase's retention settings.
Your choices and rights
- Delete recordings, all ideas or your whole account in the app: Profile › Preferences.
- Edit or delete any idea at any time.
- Turn off microphone, speech recognition or notifications in iPhone Settings › Idea.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or for help with any request, by emailing get.maktek@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR or California under CCPA) you may have additional rights, and you can contact us to exercise them.
Children
Idea is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
